The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 结局太差，不是不可以如此设计，而是这样的话前面需要更多铺垫。总体来讲是个有趣的黑色小品，半封闭空间戏主要依靠调度能力和演员发挥，两部分都不错，所以就挺可惜。莉莉老了，但还是美的。
杰西普莱蒙一年两部网飞，一部是这个，另一部是《犬山记》。故事基本上就是很简单的夫妻二人被劫匪要挟，剧情的推进并不紧凑，导演尝试用缓和而清晰的逻辑去讲故事。
说烂的人，一定没看过《狗果定理》，昨天看了狗果定理，今天看这个，就会觉得，哇，这个质量太上乘了。中国观众好难。

6分。如果这片子是30分钟内的短片，那这个设计还是挺不错的，可惜本作有90分钟。。。。整个片子太过冗长了，三个主演之间的火花以及所谓的戏剧性撑不起这么久的时间，导致看到最后的高潮却已经没有了原本的兴奋感，真的是可惜了。
之前看过漫画原著，改得还可以，还有的笑点都在，轻松治愈，适合周末看。最后林狗有惊喜到。
这个电影告诉我们有色人种和白人共事容易当炮灰。剧情本身完成度很高，因导演刻意打造的艺术范质感反而让片子显得拖沓，以至于给人多次快要高潮却阳痿的不尽兴观感。私以为评分略低，额外加一星平衡下。
不知道是不是我沒有看出更深層次的意義來，感覺有點無厘頭。

我一个看电影从来有始有终的人，这部看到三分之二我一秒钟都看不下去了！怎么能这么烂！什么东西！
为啥呢，因为除了人类主演以外，镜头不多的非人类们一个个超级出彩，尤其是静物们的设定全是善良之辈，这让我们对这个世界充满了信心。

这片子但凡把男女主爱情线去掉，说不定还能再好看几分。 纯个人喜好，我可太爱这种脑洞大开神经兮兮的无厘头设定了，男主的每一段小冒险和物体的小故事，我都很喜欢，还是原著底子好，而且王彦霖演的也不错。 但是非得谈恋爱，还找一个这么没cp感的，后面走感情线开始全面拉垮…… 太失望了，专心搞事业的呀少年

不搞笑，剧情也是东一榔头西一棒子的，无聊到在电影院睡了半个小时
希望不要是烂片吧，毕竟演员阵容还是挺不错的。
