The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 最开始由黑人男主问到“自由的代价是什么”。到最后由白人警察互相问到“自由的代价是什么？一切”

当你呼吸到新鲜空气，尝到健康食物的时候，你应该感恩的是为此些权益做出过争取与牺牲的人，而不是那个处处压迫你的郭嘉
虽说是根据真事改编，但片中情节编得比较过分，煽得过于用力。影片成本不高，场景不大，基本相当于剧场表演。男主、女主两名黑人演员表现不错，演得挺有张力，值得加分。不过其中一些情节编得有些离谱，bug明显，因为借着“释放曼德拉”的由头，导演偏向同情“MK”，赋予他们很多“人性”的细节，让人们对他们最后的结局产生同情。
自由的代价是非常昂贵的，除了需要得到绝大多数人的支持，而且还需要革命者牺牲。

自由的代价是“生命的一切”。故事很精彩，描绘了南非一群为了理想和正义而战斗、牺牲的战士和英雄，同时也展示了殖民主义、种族主义分子的偏狭残忍。
