The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 哭死我了，大概有三四个场景，最后一幕我完全破防。。看完我希望世界上多一点温柔，我要更温柔地对待所有人。当然，虽然爸爸后面有改变，但是他真的是一切的源头。男人情绪稳定才能社会稳定好吗？
披着动画外衣的成人故事，有很多大人才知道的梗。是个合格的英雄成长故事和商业片，值得鼓励。总觉得铁扇公主长相很像谁，但又想不起来。
真的超乎预料的好看 3D特效也做的很用心，其中印象很深的一个蝴蝶和炸弹，忍不住想伸手去摸，人物和剧情刻画很很用心，确实超乎想象了。
之后没法再去看这种电影……真的会很容易感到那种无奈的痛苦。开场无声的追赶就已经塑造了那种让人窒息的氛围了，最后才有的两段bgm某种意义上是解脱。非常不擅长在电影院哭，但还是在看到爸爸最后摆出了一个iphone的时候以及店长收到便当的好评的时候感到很难过。确实是并非非黑即白的世界，有谁可以去评判吗。（又及toxic masculinity害人害己，有一些时候我庆幸我幸好没有。）
罪魁祸首就是那位父亲，把错误归咎于别人就可以站在受害者的立场对别人进行指责
另外，题外话，小孩子看的电影，电影院里观影体验感超差，孩子在那里使劲说话也不管，孩子说害怕不想看了也摁着看到了完，好，这也没啥，电影看完带10来岁男孩儿直接进了女厕，妈妈上厕所，让男孩儿等着，10来岁了，就不能在女厕所门口等着吗？非得进去？咋不进一个茅坑呢？边上还有小女孩儿呢，也不知道那两位妈妈咋想的，说也不听，就当没听见
秒杀成人喜剧片好吗！笑点密集，故事有趣，亲子厅还特别舒服，跟小朋友一个笑点太治愈了。赛博朋克黑洞逃逸巨大机器人怪兽大战机器人童年治愈，要是能拍到120分钟就好啦。
无法认同异己，无法原谅他人，无法承认失职，顽固父亲层层递进的情感宣泄，是社会对于遗属的讽刺；患得患失，过度谢罪，逐渐否定自我的店长和女司机，也是被舆论和道德观驱使的受害者。
也就是电影里面这种偏执固执的父亲能改变，现实生活中太难了
剧情沉重，但是演员人人在线，人性，媒体暴力，人人都是生活在这种压力下的小小虫子。
演技都在线，人物刻画入木三分
傻X爹 生前不关心小孩 死了不愿意面对自己不关心不了解女儿的事实 不断找超市店长麻烦不就是为了摆脱自己也是害死女儿的凶手这一事实吗

熊出没超英大片，画面跟制作放到国际上都不寒碜，特效场面跟国产真人大片比也能位列前茅，整个片子挺热闹，不时看得咔咔傻笑，就是设定啊桥段啊原创性低一点，钢铁侠蜘蛛侠雷神环太平洋甚至靴子猫卖萌……各种熟口熟面既视感。
父亲粗暴偏执的恨，需要这么多这么厚的爱意才可以被逐渐的融化。
通过一个意外来展示各种人的性格，各种极端，还附带发挥一下媒体的作用，整体剧情蛮无聊的。
如果说生活中真的有突变空白的时刻，我希望自己不要经历
12岁以下专属
小孩好看很好，3D做的真的很好，每年贯彻爱亲情的主题，今年有提保护环境和地球。其中还有一句，今天发生的灾难，第二天人们就忘光了。看得我还挺感慨…明年期待
有一些自知的恶与不自知的恶相互爆发，法律与道德困境后的答案，是一片空白。
