The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 中规中矩。演员不出错，节奏把控到位，也有对美军的“部分”合理刻画。战士牺牲情节老套但也老到，观众还是会败阵。班长牺牲后剧情开始奇怪，几处无谓煽情尬到想离席。
抗美援朝大背景下冷枪冷炮中的一次小战役，一个个勇敢付出牺牲的小战士，最后铸就了抗美援朝战争的最终胜利。不同于以往的大场面和熟悉面孔，电影采用真雪景和全新人担任主演，让人从不一样的角度更好地带入志愿军战士。
