第一次发现Issac美人的演技不够用。他可以去重演《美国舞男》，但这个角色是年轻的威廉达福的，美人没有演出黑暗。
4.5 超广角全景镜头扭曲震撼，彻底改变/迷惑了场面调度的空间感；人物悖论般地单纯又神秘，只在剧本的抽丝剥茧逐渐显露出神性。把小津全部用在赌局上（从开头的桌布到打牌时的正视图），施拉德真的很坏！如果说《第一归正会》还是一部宗教片，《算牌人》则是彻底反《雨人》到无法归类。
