The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 每一句台词不管是old还是macho都像是在说自己
91岁，老了，温和了（嘴炮骂人怎么更利索了呢），但却依旧拥有漂亮女人。羡慕老爷子的坦诚。
东木竟然还能演戏，出乎意料，可惜这部的故事有点无聊，但东木老人的戏只能且看且珍惜了。
雄鸡是硬汉，东木老爷子也是，从《黄金三镖客》到《廊桥遗梦》，从《不可饶恕》到《老爷车》，再到这一部，老爷子霸气，好电影便是如此，讲好一个故事，演好一个角色，老爷子做到了。

老爷子的内心很柔软，所以一切的呈现都是偏温柔的童话的美好的，视觉上倒让那只活力的公鸡抢足了戏。
3.5，讽刺的是，如今的业界，东木的老调重弹也能成为夕阳之歌
这无疑是老爷子的谢幕之作，等于说是一部西部版“完美的世界”。从上个世纪炙手可热的好莱坞巨星，再到独具一格的电影巨匠，东木老爷子经历了太多坎坷，其中最艰难的是和好莱坞的右派势力斗争，可现在电影里，他呈现的是迟暮和衰老，或许他真的应该休息了。
