The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 无聊、乏味、充满陈词滥调的公路电影。人物和情节一样，太过扁平，看电影简介就能构建整个叙事和表达的电影。
目前看过最有诗意的公路片，赵婷牛逼。科恩嫂作为一个被现代社会驱逐的流浪者，演出了一种被流放的孤独感。我不免也有一种巨大的隔离感。但当她踏入水流，将身体赤裸地浸入溪水中，这种与自然无间隙的贴合。让人开始怀疑，是不是自己才是被自然流放的那个人。
游牧之行，无依的心；翻山越岭的迁徙，不过是内心的一场放逐。视角虚实难分，风情画式影像用旅途的不易映衬着心灵的苦修，将其视作解谜或解脱似乎都并不影响它若有似无的社会性；阶级与落寞在一切的最终都形成了忧伤的通感，意韵凄苦却坦荡、悠远而迷人。
