The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 怎么说呢～几位主演年纪加起来可以从现在回溯到康熙朝了，尼基塔+局长+液态终结者，加上发生在越南的故事，选角的基因似乎是对了，不管几位如何卖命动作戏，可就是显出各种疲态～最要命的还不是这些，而是自命不凡的白人统治者视角(K me or F me，这还不普信？)，李美琪在与白人对戏时打扮得格外“东方”，与亚洲人对戏就打扮得“洋气”，这是优势，也是迎合～兜兜转转还是回到杀手的舒适圈，到了当导师的年纪还是“门徒”，干了十多年还在“喜剧有新人”～不觉得悲哀吗？(小演员多像春夏啊～)
感觉没看明白 不得不说李美琪 迈克尔基顿和杰克逊这个阵容很吸引人 但故事讲的有一说一确实很烂
观感很糟糕，基本没有比较赤激的段落，豪华阵容一点儿用都没有，这不合理。🙄
迷惑，这异性恋情够尴尬的哪来的火花，你们对异性恋火花要求这么低的吗，男编剧会写个屁的异性恋plot尴尬得我直快进，但是Maggie Q真的好美，打戏好看，剧情还行吧，作为一部亚裔女主电影白男的戏份还是太多了🤷♀️

典型的套路化的复仇杀手，但戏剧张力明显不足，所有人都是脸谱化的工具人。唯一的亮点是前半段的伦勃朗，亦正亦邪，立场不明。Maggie确实上年纪了，再演这种内心单调的美人杀手就有些太浅薄了。

爆米花电影，父女杀手为不知道原因刺杀黑老大，顺便泡了保镖一哥的故事。
非常一般，但又比《凯特》好点，但总体上就是两个字：平庸。
故事性一般。喜欢电影里加入的越南元素，景色以及人文。结尾有点儿仓储。不明白为什么两人在老房子内，只能留有一人，而枪响之后，Ann离开。两人之间的感情线也不太清晰。不推荐影片。但，Maggie Q 是真美。

5.3分。动作片你好好拍动作就行了，搞那么多尴尬死的文戏干嘛？无病呻吟。动作一般，剧情稀烂。
大美女老了，当年第一次看见感觉真的性感美丽，这电影演员没问题，就是感觉剧本不咋地。
这松散的结构和逻辑真的白瞎了身材keep这么好的Maggie Q。
剧情有点老套，但打斗戏枪战戏是真的很到位啊，绝对是一部合格的动作片
看完你就能忘得差不多，因为好无特色。上床都只是为了完成任务
本片告诉我们再牛掰的身手过道也要遵守交通规则
