救命，原版我就觉得是个很一般的故事，陀螺这个为什么要拍这么冗长且没什么新意，走上骗人道路就用了整整一个小时。
一场寡淡且不尽如人意的freak show
明明是同一个角度，但从不同的语境捕捉，他说来竟显得如此精彩而令人心怀希望，笑。那就期待虽然一直反复但总会天明吧
美术等技术层面还是出色的，就是这故事节奏很奇怪，前面铺得太长了，让人误以为真有些超能力元素，结果从库珀单干之后就彻底开始效仿好莱坞黑色电影，加上这个骗局故事实在没有吸引力，结尾库珀变成了酒鬼重新去马戏团应聘，也是和他师傅一样的命运轮回了，建议托罗这么爱怪诞马戏，应该去执导一季美国恐怖故事才过瘾。
原版是我noir的启蒙电影，19年就听说了要翻拍的消息直到今天总算看完了！如果没有除了服化道/技术以外的元素可以赋予剧情崭新的活力、建议不要轻易翻拍。看看以前的hard boiled novel 和 pulp fiction 多好看、随便拿出来改编剧本都是碾压级别的。What do you think of film noir? Nightmare Alley and Scarlet Street ❤️
一开始奔着大魔王小白兔二搭看的，绝对是被骗了。
还是挺喜欢这个故事的。贪念不满，终其一生都在寻找心中缺失的那一部分。只不过第一幕稍微冗长了一点，应该改一下结构，把第一幕的内容交叉剪辑到主线叙事之中可能会体验更好一点。
除了奇怪的结构之外，还是很喜欢这部气质怪异的作品。
虽然烂尾了，但影片看着还是很丝滑的，一场古典的上升-下坠的历程，自己终于跌落到无可挽回的绝境之中。
好失望啊，而且真的拖沓，从怪人反复被提及开始就已经预示着并且可以猜到结局了…

Prop design & set design 绝了👏
完成度很高，故事看似复杂，其实很简单，主要是前面一半太拖沓了，让人感觉意味不明，后半部分渐入佳境，结尾最好。这部片子最亮点的，其实是BC和CB两位的x张力，双A强强太带劲了。
很完整的风格，很独特的故事，但是结局可能不算特别完美，人物剖析的还是不够透彻。
完全是被中文名《玉面情魔》吸引进来，画面极美，剧情叙事极慢，前半段太过拖沓，属于慢热型剧情。“骗子终被骗”的故事太简单，但电影整体完成度高，人物有血有肉，结局男主变成自己当年鞭子下的 geek 这一点则太过宿命。但三位主角都是玉面，观感极强

Substance, structure, graphics. Some wins, some losses. Fable-ish story, sometimes too in the face. Cooper, Blanchett, Mara, and Colette are spectacular.
