The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 好处是对于Charcot内部和当时精神病治疗手段的呈现，非常鲜明和仔细地拍出了当时种种精神治疗史上的荒唐和黑暗，男性凝视下的“疯女人”自古有之且绵延至今，这是压迫和驯化的极端表现之一。但同样的，本片元素也未免塞得太多太杂了，灵异削弱了现实，对男权进行背景化处理的结果就是过于脸谱，虽充满力度，但控诉内容的表现则有些浅白，剧本再打磨一下会更好吧。
