Mumbai, the sprawling metropolis, the economic capital of India is synonymous with ambition and a drive for professional success and money-making : something Rahul possesses in ample amounts. Working in a BPO he has found out a sure-shot way to his promotion - the key to his uncle's apartment where he is the house sitter. His colleagues and superiors use the apartment for their sexual escapades and return the favour to Rahul by offering him job incentives and promotions. Rahul loves his colleague Neha, but he's shocked to find out that she is in love with their boss Ranjeet who is a married man and on top of it they use Rahul's apartment for the purpose of their secret dalliance. On the other hand, Ranjeet's married life with Shikha is on the verge of collapse. Unaware of her husband's infidelity, Shikha finds solace in he company of an aspiring actor Akash and their friendship threatens to blossom into a full-fledged affair which might shatter the foundation of Shikha's married life. Meanwhile, Shikha's younger sister Shruti is searching for a suitable groom for herself through marriage portals, and it's then that she meets Monty. She harbours an instant dislike for him but may find out in the course of time that opposites attract, after all. Then there is the story of Shikha's old dance teacher Vaijayanti who is widowed and lives in an old age home and her former love Amol who rekindle their romance in the twilight of their lives, against all odds. The turmoil these relationships go through force these people to make some life-altering decisions.
偶然摧折或自然地老去
Empire on the road，女主无法定居下来好比卡西无法结束自我放逐做监护人，都是I can't beat it。 路上认识的人因为疾病家园家庭而停下，只有她没有家园也没有羁绊，没有目的也就没有目的地。拍得有些商业化，真底层可能路都上不了，上路的也不是tone都这么悲伤，有些玩户外的小夫妻就是觉得与众不同还省房租美滋滋得很，有情饮水饱。

最终女主角还是喜欢在路上，享受孤独，但又不是完整的孤独，她会与人交流，还沟通得很好，并不十分内向。整部片子很像小众独立制片的不知名素人演的，怪不得费兰西斯可以三封，完全洗尽铅华的feel，而梅丽尔还在执着在抓马的《洗衣店》《不要抬头》《让他们说》《毕业舞会》里，虽然演的很好，但是缺乏新鲜感。

感觉主角的设定有很多不可推敲之处，查了下果然是原著书中没有的人物。这种无父无母无孩无产的设定，给了电影某种“自由”，却也造成了遗憾？

静 人之末的悲之共情却很有层次 但只有好的那面
一位中年美国妇女如何走出丧夫孤地。赵婷对性格偏执的人物很痴迷，前作《骑士》中因骑马几乎弊命但仍不愿放弃的骑手，本片中沉沦丧夫阴影一直遇到脱离孤岛机会又屡次选择独自上路的女人。两片都是在“要不要放弃”的进退两难中纠结，最终都以找到心中答案而走出藩篱。人生是一场接一场的告别，但永远都不要说永别，只要在路上，总会在某个无依之地遇到最美的记忆。
在看的过程中，想起来之前看的美国的一些民生状态，有些人因为各种各样的原因会成为流浪者。其中某些人甚至是曾经的中产阶层。很敬佩女主遇到的那些流浪者，虽然是被生活逼到了角落，但是他们依然选择有腔调地活着。最明显的一点就是，善待自己。《活出生命的意义》的作者弗兰克尔说，“人类最终极的自由是什么呢，就是无论何时何地何种状况，你作为一个人永远都拥有选择的权利。”这种能力就是这些流浪者所拥有，但大部分人所缺少的。女主也具备这样的能力，所以最后她选择继续上路，这里也很切题。
似乎是与生俱来的流浪，也是被回忆拉扯在了路上
是很有魅力的片子，影像上充满了漂流和不稳定，在时常出现的宽幅和远景中被放大，又显得孤独渺小。很独特的视角，大家来来走走，生活兜兜转转又回到原点。但我觉得配乐的存在感过强，想要扬起情绪的意图很明显，时而的戛然而止又把被撩拨起来的情绪硬压了回去。并且大家都失去了生活中重要的人这一点在我看来有点刻意了。但总而言之还是一部不错的电影。

时代凋敝，个人丧失，看着有点后嬉皮，骨子里却还是great again的cliche。钢琴铺得太满，风光剪辑倒不错——有一段连同配乐刹得挺有灵气。不起用名演员或许更好。 /// 听了波米的播客，才知后面本是本批判向的纪实作品，却被处理得不痛不痒那就7-1=6了
一个女人，晚年之际脱离熟悉的生活轨道，住在车里，四处流浪。尤其对于女人，世俗更觉凄楚。然而她本人并不这么想。镜头跟随着她，经过空旷荒野，走到巨浪悬崖，沿途日出又日落，冬去春来，与偶遇的人相聚离开，她始终不肯停下。
